THE ATTRIBUTES OF A NATURAL GAS ENGINEER

In addition to the general attributes of engineer, the natural gas engineer should be able to:
  • Apply his knowledge in petroleum geology, well drilling and completion, production, reservoir engineering science and process engineering principles to natural gas engineering.
  • Apply theories and concepts of chemistry, physics, mathematics and thermodynamics and engineering principles to mechanical and energy systems related to natural gas engineering.
  • Apply and integrate knowledge, understanding and skills of different subjects to solve problems in the natural gas industry (production, processing, liquefaction and transmission) and to design proper systems, understand the associated uncertainties, and evaluate the economic impact.
  • Evaluate the sustainability and environment issues related to natural gas engineering problems.
  • Use mathematical and computational skills in solving natural gas engineering problems.
  • Use natural gas energy and its applications efficiently.
  • Adapt with technological evolutions.
  • Apply industrial safety.
  • Communicate with other, present ideas and findings and lead a group.
  • Develop economic solution.
  • Take the duties and responsibilities entitled to professional engineers.
